Clubs are required to have their President and Secretary educated EACH year to be considered for Distinguished Club status even if those individuals have held the office previously. This training is a 4-hour course and there is no cost to the club or member to attend. The dates and locations of all training sessions are shown above. We suggest you register in the closest location, but if that is not convenient, you can register in any other location.

Kiwanis Education Committee

The Kiwanis Education Committee is composed of a committee chair and 11 committee members. Their task is to provide the training sessions at the midwinter conferences and the District Convention (DCON). In addition to these responsibilities, there are several specific programs that are taught during the year i.e. Club Leadership Education (CLE) for incoming president elects; Achieving Club Excellence (ACE); and New Member Orientation when a new club comes into existence. There may be other programs that a club, division or region may request to be taught and the committee can provide that training too.

The committee has 12 Certified Instructors who have been selected by the District and approved by the KI Education Department to conduct the above training programs. These individuals are knowledgeable of Kiwanis and the various subjects that require training to Kiwanis members. They are also experienced educators who know how to facilitate a session so that everyone is able to learn and understand the training material.

This committee is constantly looking for qualified Kiwanians who would like to apply for the position of Kiwanis Certified Instructor. An application can be obtained from the Education Committee Chair by email to dldudey@gmail.com. There is an audition required once the application is received. This is a 10 minute presentation in front of members of the Education Committee, usually conducted at one of our regional conferences, DCON or if required, by special arrangements.
